Pramac to run two latest spec Ducatis in 2020?

Pramac Racing Team Manager Guidotti spoke to Simon Crafar during MotoGP™ FP1 at Mugello about next season’s lineup

Pramac Racing are looking like they could be running two ‘official’ Ducati GP20s next season with Francesco Bagnaia and potentially Jack Miller too, depending on who gets the full factory seat alongside Andrea Dovizioso (Mission Winnow Ducati) in 2020.

Reigning Moto2™ World Champion Bagnaia has a clause in his contract saying he will get the latest Desmosedici machinery in 2020 and if Miller doesn’t earn a spot next to Dovizioso next year, nothing but a GP20 will do if he is to stay with Pramac beyond this season.

“Yes, Pecco’s contract says he will have the 2020 bike next year,” confirmed Pramac Racing Team Manager Francesco Guidotti, talking to motogp.com’s pitlane reporter Simon Crafar during MotoGP™ FP1 at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley.

“The other rider it will depend on who it will be, so in the case of Jack he will have a 2020 bike because I don’t see any other way to make him happy and if it will be a rookie, we will see.”

During the same session, Ducati Corse Sporting Director Paolo Ciabatti also spoke about the big decision he and Ducati bosses have to make in regards to the remaining factory seat in 2020.

“Well as we said we want to wait a little bit before sitting together with Gigi and Claudio to start discussing next year,” said Ciabatti to Crafar, with it being either Miller or current Mission Winnow Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci who gets the seat.

“We decided we will wait until after Barcelona, we aren’t in a hurry but we understand it’s important for the riders to know. So, after seven races we will have all the information we need to assess the races and take the best possible decision for the future...In principal, it’s between the two of them.”
