MotoE™: Esponsorama announce Simeon and Granado

Belgian and Brazilian to join the grid for the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup's inaugural season

Esponsorama Racing have announced their riders for the upcoming FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup, choosing current MotoGP™ rider Xavier Simeon and pairing him with former FIM CEV Repsol Moto2™ European Champion Eric Granado, from Brazil.

The first tests for MotoE™ get underway in November for both to start their new journey on this parallel path of racing, and neither can wait to get started.

“Without a doubt this will be a very important step in my career,” says Simeon. “The idea of forming part of the first ever World Cup on this new generation of machinery is very attractive to me. It will be a very different experience, but also a very exciting one. I’ve been thinking about it for months, because I’m at a point in my career where it’s very important to consider the future. I’ve spent a year in MotoGP and it’s been far from easy but I’m very happy to be part of this new adventure in this Championship with my team. I’m excited to try it and see what we can do, because although the bikes are very different, the level of the riders will be high. Nevertheless there are four races remaining before the end of this season and from here to Valencia I want to score points in MotoGP™.”

“Before anything else I want to thank Raul, Bocha and the whole team for giving me this opportunity. I’m really excited about it and counting down the time until I can test the bike for the first time in Jerez. MotoE is new for everyone and it’ll be a true unknown how the bike works and how we have to adapt our riding style, but I’m sure that with the help of this great team we’ll do a good job. MotoE marks a milestone in motorcycle racing history and I’m happy I can be part of this new adventure. I’m ready for it and I want to get the most from the first tests. Thanks to my family and everyone who supports me in Brazil, now it’s time for full gas!”
