Oliveira opens Sunday’s Moto2™ proceedings at the summit

Portuguese rider fastest in morning Warm Up from Fernandez and Marquez, Bagnaia down in P16

Championship contender Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) led Moto2™ Warm Up at the PTT Thailand Grand Prix, a 1:36.649 his benchmark time that was 0.154 quicker than second place Augusto Fernandez (Pons HP40), the Spaniard continuing to have a strong weekend, with Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) completing the top three on Sunday morning.

Pole man Lorenzo Baldassarri (Pons HP40) had a solid Warm Up session in fourth, with Joan Mir (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) fifth – 0.282 off Oliveira’s time. Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (SKY Racing Team VR46) had a difficult morning session, ending the 20-minute session down in P16. The Italian lines up alongside main rival Oliveira on the grid in P6 as tension builds for the intermediate class race.
