Spaniard suffered a repeat fracture of his left collarbone in FP3 at Aragon but has since been operated on by Dr Mir in Barcelona

After missing the Czech GP, Austrian GP and British GP through injury, Pol Espargaro’s (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) luckless 2018 continued after a crash at Turn 15 in FP3 left the Spaniard with a fractured collarbone.

It was the same collarbone that Espargaro fractured in his Brno crash and he left MotorLand Aragon to head to Barcelona for surgery, which was carried out by Dr Xavier Mir on Saturday:

"Pol Espargaro suffered a fracture of 1/3 middle of the left clavicula, an open reduction and internal fixation was carried out using a titanium plate with 6 blocked screws. He remained in the hospital for 24 hours and started the functional recovery at 48 hours."
