Schrötter leads Bagnaia, Lowes in Moto2™ FP1

German rider over a tenth quicker than the Championship leader as the intermediate class get their weekend underway in Aragon

After claiming his first Grand Prix podium at Misano last time out, Marcel Schrötter (Dynavolt Intact GP) came out the blocks quickest in Moto2™ FP1 to set the sessions fastest time of a 1:53.570, 0.184 ahead of second on the timesheets and Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (SKY Racing Team VR46).

Britain’s Sam Lowes (Swiss Innovative Investors) was the leading KTM chassis in third, 0.326 adrift from Schrötter, with Fabio Quartararo (MB Conveyors – Speed Up) a further 0.019 back in fourth. Home rider Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) rounded out the top five on Friday morning as Championship protagonist Miguel Oliveira ended the opening session of his weekend (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in eighth – 0.663 from the top.

Stefano Manzi (Forward Racing Team) crashed – rider ok.

The intermediate class will be back out at MotorLand for FP2 at 15:05 local time (GMT +2).
