Repsol has extended its title sponsorship of the factory Honda MotoGP team, which began in 1995, until at least the end of the 2020 season.

Together, Repsol Honda have won 13 riders' titles and 163 premier-class grand prix wins, most recently at the Dutch TT with reigning champion Marc Márquez.

Other famous riders to wear the Repsol Honda livery include Mick Doohan, Alex Crivillé, Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa.

For the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Márquez will team up with Jorge Lorenzo. The pair have won seven of the last eight MotoGP titles, the exception being Stoner's title with Repsol Honda in 2011.

"We look forward to continuing this journey together, with the same spirit and goals, and to achieving many more successes.”

Begoña Elices García, Repsol's Executive Managing Director of Communications, added:

"We are very pleased to have renewed our alliance with Honda -an alliance that will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year and that goes well beyond a traditional sponsorship agreement."
