Dani Pedrosa will undergo checks on his right wrist in Barcelona on Tuesday after being left in 'a lot of pain' following a big highside on the opening lap of Sunday's Argentina MotoGP.

The Repsol Honda rider was holding fourth place when Johann Zarco squeezed past on entry to the penultimate corner.

That forced Pedrosa onto a damp patch and he was spectacularly launched from his RC213V.

"My race ended before I finished the first lap. Race Direction needs to look after every rider’s safety," Pedrosa said.

"Right now I have a lot of pain in my right wrist. I’ll have it checked again in Barcelona on Tuesday.”

Zarco, who went on to finish a close second to Cal Crutchlow, explained:

"When you are going into the corner with this different line you have to go wide and the problem is Dani was on the wet.

“I also had to pick up the bike not to crash, because if I crashed I would have pushed him off."

Pedrosa's team-mate Marc Marquez would clash with Aleix Espargaro and then Valentino Rossi at the same corner, earning a penalty on both occasions.

Marquez cited the unpunished Zarco-Pedrosa tangle as an example of why his own race incidents were 'nothing crazy'.
