Baldassarri, Oliveira and Fenati fastest in FP1

Italian leaves it late to take over after Fenati shows some serious rookie pace

Lorenzo Baldassarri (Pons HP 40) went fastest in the first practice session for Moto2™ in Qatar, taking over on his final lap to head the timesheets by two tenths. That was just after Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) had done the same to take over, but the Portuguese rider was 0.236 in arrears by the flag. That was just ahead of an incredible first rookie session for Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers), who was top for some time before opening his intermediate class career in third overall, and just 0.053 off Oliveira. Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) was fourth, also incredibly close.
