Crutchlow: “It’s going to be a good Sunday”

Brit ready for a showdown on Sunday - with a fair few riders showing good pace

Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) was pretty convinced he’d be able to crack the two minute barrier at Silverstone, but was just marginally off after he says he made some small mistakes in Sector 3. But it’s still the front row, and with so many riders looking competitive for Sunday, that’s the best place to be to start your home GP.

Cal Crutchlow, P3: “I’m disappointed, I got up this morning and I wanted to go under two minutes but Marc was the only one to do it! But no I’m happy, pole last year in the wet and front row today in the dry. I thought pole would be a 59 and I was sure I could do it but I made some mistakes in Sector 3. All credit to Marc and Vale! When I saw Marc flying through the air yesterday and heard Vale had been ill I had been hoping I’d be in better shape! But I’m looking forward to tomorrow, the same guys who were fast last year are fast this year and I think it’s going to be a good Sunday. I felt a lot better yesterday to today, but it could have been the track conditions. The track and the wind can make it feel a lot different to the day before. Hopefully tomorrow will be good weather and the fans will see a good race.”
