Sunday Guide:

- Italtrans Racing Team's Mattia Pasini will start his 200th Grand Prix race from pole position. His first pole position since Australia 2007 when he competed in 125cc. - Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo), who finished ninth last year in Brno, qualified in second on the grid, his second front row start of the year, along with a pole in Argentina.

- EG 0,0 Marc VDS rider Franco Morbidelli will be in third on the grid, his ninth front row start on the ten opening races of the season. The first rider to achieve that feat in Moto2™ since Tito Rabat in 2014.

- Federal Oil Gresni Moto2 rider Jorge Navarro qualified in fifth on the grid, his best qualifying result of his Moto2™ rookie season.

- Second in the Championship, Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) will start from 12th on the grid, equaling his worst qualifying result this year.
