“We’re ready”: Marquez ups his aim to victory

Polesitter optimistic after eyeing rivals’ rhythm

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) came into the weekend at the Czech GP aiming to get on the podium, but after a solid Saturday proving the fastest man on track, the rider from Cervera now believes he’s got a good shot at the win.

Expecting a big challenge from both Movistar Yamaha riders and his teammate Dani Pedrosa, Marquez nevertheless feels ready in the wet and the dry – but hopes for the latter as race day dawns.

Marc Marquez, P1: “This is the best way to start the second half of this season after the summer break. This weekend I’m feeling good with the bike in the wet and dry. Pole position is important but also the pace was good. We tried a few things on the bike but we went back for quali because in FP4 on the second run I didn’t feel comfortable. The aim is to be on the podium but after checking everyone’s rhythm today, why not the victory! The weather will be a question mark because it looks like it will be unstable but I think we’re ready in both conditions to fight for a good place. I hope it’s dry and I know my teammate has a good rhythm, and the Yamaha riders, but we’re ready.”
