Pedrosa: “This Championship is difficult to predict”

‘Baby Samurai’ back on the podium and in the title fight after a solid German GP

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) showed great pace at the Sachsenring – one of his most successful venues – throughout the German GP, and was quick in the wet and the dry. That didn’t change on Sunday as the number 26 got back on the rostrum following a tough Dutch GP.

Although not able to replicate his practice pace, Pedrosa is happy with the podium – especially given the unpredictable 2017 title fight.

Dani Pedrosa, P3: “I’m very happy about the start and started well, my timing of the start wasn’t so good but the drive after was so I could recover and get second. The first two laps were really good, I was right behind Marc and feeling comfortable. Then maybe on lap four or five Jonas passed me and I was like ‘hmm?!’ I tried to follow him but I was spinning, from a lot of grip to suddenly not so much. Every lap I was losing more and more to them. I couldn’t be very fast like in practice and I knew I had to settle for this position. I was struggling to open the throttle, especially on the left side, but I’m really happy because in most conditions we were fast. This Championship is difficult to predict, today Jonas is here on the podium with amazing pace so you never know. Now we have the break and we’ll be working and looking to be strong when we come back.”
