Marquez Blog: We will always remember you!

In his latest boxrepsol.com blog Marc Marquez reflects on an emotional Catalan GP.

Hi everyone.

One thing’s for sure: this weekend has been different from any other that I’ve experienced. The loss of a teammate and friend has affected the whole World Championship community. It’s been a heavy blow, and I would like to send my sincere condolences to Luis Salom’s family. We will always remember him. He was a fighter and that will remain with us in our hearts

I wanted to win so badly...

As far as the results are concerned, I can confidently say that things have gone well, especially bearing in mind what happened to me here last year. I wanted to win so badly in front of my fans that I didn’t finish the race on that occasion. This year I finished in second position, securing 20 crucial points. The test run on Monday will also help us find solutions for the future.

I would like to thank our Trial team colleagues Toni Bou, Takahisa Fujinami, and Jaime Busto for visiting our box. I think they enjoyed themselves, and the luck they brought us was their small contribution to a really good result: two podium positions.

Looking back, I can now say that the hardest part of the season is over. The first four races in the last two years have been tough, but this time we’re leaving Montmelo as World Championship leaders.

And having two weeks to prepare for the next GP is turning out to be very useful. Next week, we’re travelling to Austria to get to grips with the circuit. We have to be well prepared for the upcoming GPs as they’re going to be important to keep us in with a chance of a title in the second half of the season.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK, from Laura:
My question is: Have you ever thought about getting a tattoo? And if you have…do you have anything particular in mind?
Hi Laura!

I’ve actually thought a lot about getting a tattoo, and it’s something that I might do in the future, but I still don’t have any idea about what I’d get done.

Best wishes,

Marc.
